CERI is thrilled to share that we are among six successful winners of $430,000 worth of innovation grants provided through the McGowan Government’s $16.7 million New Industries Fund.
The program allows for government to collaborate with the private sector and leverage their expertise to support innovative job creating projects. With bids focused on creating WA jobs and supporting new industries, CERI was a natural fit due to our mission to contribute to a more sustainable WA economy, leading to the creation of new industries and new jobs in WA.
CERI will be able to expand our entrepreneurial programs and reach, including regional visits and further developing our team mentoring and expert-in-residence programs. This will enable us to increase connection and collaboration between researchers, CERI alumni, industry professionals and guest entrepreneurs (local, national and international).
We will also be in a stronger position to undertake an awareness campaign to improve the understanding of why research matters and the benefits of commercialising Western Australian research in WA.
Comments attributed to Innovation and ICT Minister Dave Kelly:
“The McGowan Government is committed to delivering new initiatives in collaboration with industry to support and create WA jobs.
“The successful applicants’ bids have regional, national and global application and will create jobs and diversify the WA economy.
