CERI is an independent, not-for-profit organisation based in Nedlands, WA. Established in 2015 by Charlie Bass, CERI’s purpose is to work with local researchers and assist them to develop entrepreneurial skills and to take them through the Innovation Process, with the goal of enabling them to establish a startup company.
We believe a more sustainable future is achievable if we work alongside our universities, research institutes, government and industry as well as investors and philanthropic communities to achieve increased translation of research into real-world effects.
Western Australian research is already world-class in several areas, including bioengineering, agriculture, astronomy, big data/ supercomputers and advanced materials engineering. Our goal is to better utilise and promote these strengths through new startup formation and the commercialisation of research.
“It is pleasing to learn that CERI, having recently opened its doors, is already a hive of activity. This clearly demonstrates the need for such a service within our State and I am looking forward to it becoming an internationally renowned organisation.
